Waiter fined for drugs
cannabis in his pocket when searched by Police, a court heard this week.
And Senior Magistrate Will Francis on Wednesday fined Gianmarco Rampazzo a total of $300 for the two offences.
Mr. Francis heard Rampazzo, 25, a waiter at Harbourfront restaurant, was spotted in a drunken state by Regiment soldiers in Paget, who stopped to help.
A passing Police car stopped to investigate and arrested Rampazzo, of Harbour Road, Paget, because he was a danger to himself.
And when they searched the accused at Hamilton Police Station they found a twist of paper containing 0.29 grams of cannabis in his pocket.
But Rampazzo, who pleaded guilty to being drunk in a public place and possessing cannabis, insisted he had no recollection of the evening -- or how he had come by the drugs.
