Watson, who denied killing 68-year-old Mr. Wilbur Doe but was found guilty of manslaughter, has decided to "call it a day''.
Watson was sentenced to 15 years after his third trial for premeditated murder.
His lawyer, Mr. Tim Marshall, said: "He's decided not to appeal the conviction or the sentence. He wants to get on with his life. He's gone through numerous trials and appeals and he wants to call it a day right now and serve his time out.'' Mr. Marshall said Watson was "very positive'' and planning to take university courses in English, math, political science and law.
The lawyer said he doubted Ricky Smith, who was jailed for robbing Doe, would be prosecuted on any further charges. "I think the case in its entirety is at an end.''
