Police spokesperson P.c. Gary Venning said the accident took place on East Broadway on Friday evening.

The woman was heading west on a Peugot auxiliary cycle when she was involved in the collision with a Suzuki Swift car travelling in the same direction.

The woman was taken to the hospital but was later discharged.

Police enquiries are continuing.

PARENTS REPORT THEFT CRM Parents report theft Police are investigating a domestic incident where a son stole from his parents.

Police spokesperson P.c. Gary Venning said the incident took place at a Smith's Parish home on Saturday evening.

A woman reported that her son, who does not live with his parents, arrived home at 8 p.m. and demanded some money.

When the son was refused, he proceeded to search the house.

Unable to find any money, the son stole his father's cycle and fled.

Police inquiries are continuing.

THREE BOUS ARRESTED CRM Three boys arrested Three Hamilton Parish boys were arrested on Friday for stealing canoes.

Police spokesperson P.c. Gary Venning said the youngsters, aged 12, 14 and 16, were discovered in the stolen canoes.

Around 3.30 p.m. a Marine Police patrol saw the three boys paddling in the vicinity of Grotto Bay. When Police conducted a check, it was discovered that the canoes had been stolen from Coney Island.

The three were taken into custody and the canoes seized.

Inquiries are continuing.

MORE DRIVERS STOPPED POL More drivers stopped Police report a slight decrease in the number of drivers pulled aside for alcohol tests.

But more people failed the alcohol test when compared to last year's statistics for a three-month period.

Police spokesperson P.c. Gary Venning said a total of 79 drivers were arrested -- between the months of April and June -- compared with 80 arrests during the same period last year.

Of those arrested 54 failed the test while 49 failed the test a year ago.

Seventeen people refused to give a sample of breath and eight people passed the test.

P.c. Venning said the highest reading was 260 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

A total of 19 arrests were made following road traffic accidents.

STORM NO THREAT HUR Storm no threat Tropical Storm Danny does not pose a threat to the Island, the Bermuda Weather Service reported yesterday.

The storm is expected to come closest on Wednesday. At that time it will be 950 nautical miles west of Bermuda.

At noontime yesterday the storm was 1,160 nautical miles west of Bermuda.

BANK SAYS THANKS BUC Bank says `thanks' Management at the Bank of Butterfield are thanking the public and its customers for their support and concern over staff at its Somerset branch which was robbed last week.

The announcement came on Friday from a bank spokesman who sent special thanks to the Police and staff who went out of their way to give support to its staff.

The branch was robbed by two men on July 8 who assaulted three security officers and made off with a bag of cash.
