Commonwealth Parliamentary Seminar in Bermuda next week.

Topics to be discussed include The Origins of Parliamentary Democracy, Accountability and the Interface between Parliament and the Executive, the MP, His Party, and His Electorate, and two sessions on Parliaments and the Media.

The conference will be hosted by the Bermuda Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and its joint presidents -- Senate President Alf Oughton and Speaker of the House Stanley Lowe.

Delegates will also tour the Island and attend receptions hosted by Governor Thorold Masefield at Government House and Premier Jennifer Smith.

The conference will officially begin at 9 a.m. on Monday in the Adam Lounge of the Fairmont Hamilton Princess with welcome addresses by the Premier and joint presidents.

Parliamentary guests from the United Kingdom and Ottawa as well as Secretary General of the CPA, Arthur Donahoe, will be present.

All regions of the Commonwealth will be represented, except for Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

Most sessions will begin at 9 a.m. each day in the Tiara Room of the Fairmont Hamilton Princess and are open to all Associate Members of the Bermuda Branch of the CPA.
