attempted break-in was sent to Supreme Court where he could be sentenced more harshly.

Police Prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette told the court that Stanley Davis, 30, of Cedar Avenue, attempted to break into a house on May 27 at around 12.30 a.m. at Paget Close.

The resident heard a noise coming from her bathroom window and when she went to investigate she saw Davis running away from the window, Sgt. Mouchette said.

She then called Police who arrived and searched the grounds, but found nothing.

The woman and a neighbour later conducted their own search and about 20 minutes later found Davis hiding on a nearby balcony. They held him until Police returned and arrested Davis.

Davis also pleaded guilty to a breaking and entering offence that occurred on June 23, last year.

Acting Senior Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Mapp told Davis: "You appear not to respect the sanctity of people's homes.'' Noting that her sentencing powers in the lower court were not sufficient to deal with the matter, Mrs. Mapp sent the matter to the Supreme Court for sentencing and remanded Davis in custody.
