Witnesses say the fight between fewer than six young men began near the Church Street side of the terminal but the sound of Police sirens chased the would-be fighters to the Victoria Street side.

Police cars, trucks and cycles eventually showed up but the fighters had already run off.

Police nabbed a young man who was "mixed'' up the group but the young man told Police he had nothing to do with the fight and was released to board a bus.

Richard Quinn, of Daniel's Head Village Eco-Resort, said they suffered no damage during Saturday morning when the storm passed by and guests considered the precautionary measures akin to a "pyjama party''.

All 31 guests were gathered into a reception area overnight as a safeguard before the weather became bad. The guests commented that it was like a "pyjama party'', said Mr. Quinn.

"We had no problems whatsoever,'' he said. "The units have been structurally designed for worse weather.'' With the acrylic skins, the buildings can withstand 90 mph winds, he said.

And with the skin removed, the structure can survive 115 mph winds and in the event of such weather, the eco-resort has a number of storm shelters on site.

Mr. Quinn said guests were happy to cooperate with the safety measures.

POLICE INVESTIGATE THEFTS CRM Police investigate thefts Police are investigating a number of thefts from properties over the last few days. In Hamilton Parish an electric saw and ceiling fans were removed from a Paradise Lane residence.

And a knapsack containing personal papers, clothes and cash was taken from Pasta Basta restaurant on Elliot Street, Pembroke around 11 p.m. on Monday evening.

Cash was taken from a Mill's Creek Lane, Pembroke home during Tuesday daytime.

An office at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital was targetted by thieves and a wallet containing cash was taken.

In Sandys, a Farmstead Lane home was raided and a wallet with cash inside taken, on Monday night.
