The salute, which will be fired from two field guns, will take place between 6.30 and 6.45 p.m. as friends and dignitaries gather on the Cabinet Office lawn to bid farewell to the Governor and Lady Langley.

The official departure ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. when the Governor inspects a guard of honour from the Bermuda Regiment.

The Governor and Lady Langley will fly out of Bermuda later this evening.

More than $300 was stolen from a beauty shop in the Somerset area, Police spokeswoman Sgt. Andrea Browne said.

Somerset Primary School and a business were also damaged by intruders, but nothing was stolen from either place.

VISITOR SAVE MAN FROM DROWNING RES Visitor save man from drowning A visitor saved a 25-year-old Sandys Parish man from drowning just off Lantana Club last weekend, Police reported yesterday.

The Sandys Parish man, who ran into difficulty while swimming near Somerset Bridge, was pulled from the water around 7.45 p.m. on Saturday by a Lantana guest, Police spokeswoman Sgt. Andrea Browne said.

First aid was administered until the arrival of an ambulance.

The man, who was kept overnight at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for observations, was later discharged.

STUDENT FLOWN IN FROM CARGO VESSEL RES Student flown in from cargo vessel A 19-year-old college student participating in a navigational training course off Bermuda was last night rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The man was on board the cargo ship Texas Clipper about 120 miles southwest of Bermuda, when he suffered appendicitis.

A Harbour Radio spokesman said the rescue call was received around 6 p.m. and a US Navy helicopter immediately responded.

The man was airlifted to Prospect field around 9.30 p.m. and taken to the hospital.
