Everything from hand-made products to ideas for Christmas presents are on sale at the latest shop to open in Hamilton.

For just one week the National Trust has set up its Trustworthy shop in the Gibbons Company store, on Church Street, to raise money.

"This is a great chance for people to shop early for their Christmas cards and presents and support the National Trust,'' said organiser of the shop's move to Hamilton, Mrs. Carol Malley.

"Every cent raised by Trustworthy goes to the work of the Trust,'' added Mrs.

Malley, one of the dozen volunteers who help to do the buying, book-keeping and operation of the business.

Trustworthy will be open from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. until Saturday.

Mrs. Malley said: "We are hoping that Trust members and friends will make a point of coming out to support our latest venture.

"The last time a Hamilton business lent us some premises we made more money in one week than we usually make in one month. We are truly grateful for the Gibbons Company for this opportunity.''
