Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Donald A. DeSilva, 29, arrived in the emergency department of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with a bleeding nose and demanded an X-ray, the court heard.

When doctors refused he became abusive and had to be removed by Police. Sgt.

Rex Osborne told the court that DeSilva, of Green Acres, showed up at the hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A doctor treated his nose and decided it did not need to be X-rayed. But DeSilva became very violent, frightening nurses, and was asked to leave by security staff.

Eventually, Police were called. They arrived to find DeSilva, his shirt and pants stained with blood, shouting at a doctor and demanding his nose be X-rayed. He was arrested and taken away.

DeSilva, a horticulturalist, admitted refusing to leave the hospital when ordered by Police. But he told the court: "I wanted an X-ray. You go to the hospital to get what you want.'' Magistrate the Wor. John Judge told him: "A lot of people get there and don't get what they want. You get what the doctor thinks you need to get.

"You have no business going up there and turning the whole emergency department into a fighting bear garden.''
