The Fire Service yesterday warned the public about the dangers of storing aerosol spray cans inside the house or near sources of heat and ignition after two incidents over the last fortnight.

One incident involved an aerosol spray paint can and the other an aerosol insecticide spray.

The cans were both being kept in kitchen cabinets which were damaged. In the second incident a person's legs were burnt.

The service said to keep aerosol spray cans in a cool, dry place, preferably outside the house, and to avoid using the sprays near possible ignition sources.
