breathing problems on an American Airlines flight, was last night listed in satisfactory condition in hospital.

Eduardo Gonzalez Jr., of New York, was travelling with his parents on American's flight 1452 from San Juan to New York on Sunday when he began to have difficulty breathing.

The flight, carrying some 260 passengers, was diverted to Bermuda just after 6 p.m., American Airlines local manager Mrs. Carole DeCouto said.

The boy was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by a waiting ambulance.

And flight 1452 left for New York at 6.45 p.m.

A hospital spokeswoman said the infant was resting on a children's ward.
