American visitor `helps' student in science project
An American youngster will go to the top of the class thanks to the Bermuda connection to his science project.
Charles Geary Jr. dropped his message into a bottle into the waters off Stuart, Florida in February and waited...and waited...
And last week, thanks to a fellow American, young Charles was about to receive the good news that his bottle had washed up on a South Shore beach.
Eric Lamoureaux was vacationing at Pompano Beach and during an afternoon wander along the beach, he found Charles' bottle buried amongst some rubbish.
The message read: "I am an elementary school student from Stuart, Fla, and as part of my science project I have chosen to drop 150 bottles in the Gulf Stream.'' Eric, from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, has tried to contact the youngster via email, but has had no luck yet. But he has vowed to call Charles on his return to the US this week.
