but was not willing to speak to reporters.

Smith, 20, has maintained a low profile ever since he was sensationally found not guilty of the murder of Canadian teenager Rebecca Middleton in December.

Ms Middleton's killer has still to be brought to justice.

But yesterday Mr. Smith was spotted making another court appearance -- this time to take a seat in the public gallery of Supreme Court Three to watch the proceedings at the trial of accused bank robber Randolph Lightbourne.

But when he left the court building following the morning session Mr. Smith, who was accompanied by a friend, refused to talk when approached by a Royal Gazette reporter.

And when the reporter persisted in asking for an interview, Mr. Smith turned around and, pretending his hand was a loaded gun, pointed, pulled the imaginary trigger and said: "bang bang''.

Mr. Smith then walked to a motorcycle parked near the court building and sped off in the direction of his Deepdale Road East home.
