Berkeley Institute student recalls the most terrible day of her life
It all started that morning; I was having a rotten day; my bike was not sounding right.
Once my dad fixed my bike we went swimming. Again, I was not having such a good time because I could not get my hair wet so I was very unhappy.
I decided to go home and call the man of my dreams; but he wasn't there so I talked with his mom. His mom had told me that she was hungry but didn't feel like cooking so I took her some food. When I arrived Jeffrey was home and we talked for a while then I went home.
When I got home I called him because I had received some bad news and I was upset about it. After he talked to me and calmed me down he asked me to come over to his house. When I arrived at his house he was fixing his bike; so I went inside to watch some cable. Soon after that his friends Mikey and Stephen came and sat off for a while. Jeffrey then came to me and said he would be right back and all of them left.
I tried to stay up for Jeffrey to return home but he didn't. His mother later had received a phone call saying that he had been in an accident so she left.
Now it was only me and Semay (Jeffrey's younger sister) and all we did was worry.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door and the person told me that Jeffrey and Stephen were laying in the road not far from his house so I got my shoes and ran as fast as I can to the scene.
When I arrived there, both to me looked fine. What got me mad was that everyone was saying that they were okay but no one was helping them. When I finally got a chance to go and touch both of them the thought of death never crossed my mind. When I did find out that they had both passed away I could not believe it, I went into shock and could not control myself. I was praying to wake up from my nightmare. (I would rather not go into detail of what I saw because of my emotional reactions).
To end my story I went to both funerals and kept myself very calm but one thing is for sure I will miss and still love both of you Jeffrey and Stephen.
(I want you two to take care of each other xoxoxoxo). JAMILA MOORE Age 16, The Berkeley Institute.
