In the next few months three major US-based leisure magazines will be profiling actor Michael Douglas and, set against the coral cottages of the Ariel Sands, Bermuda is coming along for the ride.

Already on newstands New York-based "W'' -- an entertainment and fashion magazine -- this month features a six-page photo spread of Mr. Douglas and his Island connection.

"Bermuda has a serenity, a security about it,'' writer Julie Belcove cites Mr. Douglas in "Michael's Club,'' her story about about the transformation of Ariel Sands from "the Island's Fawlty Towers'' into a circa 1960's Doris Day/Cary Grant, retro-chic resort.

Meanwhile, with a combined circulation measured in the millions, Men's Journal magazine, Travel and Leisure, and American Way (the in-flight publication of American Airlines) plan similar spreads.
