Southampton Princess Hotel this Saturday and will continue through the following week.

It's anticipated that over 500 players from overseas will compete in the tournament along with over 200 locals.

The majority of players from overseas will come from North America, although it's expected that several first-time competitors in the tournament will fly in from Europe, thanks to exposure of the sport on the Internet.

In addition to the championship events taking place every day, there will be special events for players with little or limited experience in bridge competition. There will also be instructional shows and discussions on bridge.
