The trial of Tony Bukhari, who is charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of former Royal Gazette sub-editor Liz Cadell, is now scheduled to start next year.

Puisne Judge Norma Wade-Miller adjourned the proceedings until January 4, for mention.

Crown counsel Patrick Doherty said the case was due to begin yesterday, but the defence team had had difficulty in arranging for an expert witness.

Ms Cadell died on May 31, 1997 after taking an overdose of aspirin. Mr.

Bukhari, who denies manslaughter, is accused of not aiding her after she had taken the pills.
