Now in its ninth day, the trial centres around Bukhari's actions after his girlfriend, Royal Gazette employee Elizabeth Cadell, told him she had taken an overdose of aspirin.

The jury was away from the Court while lawyers presented legal arguments yesterday.

Bukhari faces four counts of manslaughter related to his duties as a Policeman and boyfriend, and the amount and quality of medical advice he provided when confronted with an aspirin overdose.

The case is being presided over by Assistant Justice Philip Storr and Bukhari is defended by Delroy Duncan. Prosecuting are Crown Counsels Patrick Doherty and Larry Mussenden.
