Lister said no decision had been taken about the future of Kindley Field and plans were at a very early stage.

The only definite was that motorsports would be accomodated.

"Right now I can't tell you what the track is going to look like because we are in those early stages of talking with the architects about what exactly are our options,'' Lister said.

"Once we have those options at hand then we can go back and say these are the options or how do we alter them to make them best suit your sport.'' Lister said at this stage he wouldn't narrow down what sports or other activities might be catered for at the venue.

"It's not necessarily sport. There may be some other recreational stuff as well as possibly sport. Those decisions haven't been finalised yet, we are still looking at what is the potential for this site,'' he said.

"The only assurance that anyone has been given as a far as sports organisations are concerned is the motorsports. We have already given them the assurance that however the development comes about, whatever is placed there, you (motorsport) are going to be there.'' Lister said he believed Government was doing all within its power to assist the BRMC.

"It disturbs one when you continue to hear certain people grumbling like this when they have been given assurances that noone else has,'' he said.

"As we sit with the developers and architects we are saying your concepts, your options that you bring back to us have to be options that will address their sport.'' Lister said while not happy with BRMC's attitude, he hoped it would not come to a point where Government stopped negotiating.

"I would hope that we could all be mature enough not to get to that point. I am saying that very sincerely, very strongly and it's a message for both sides.

"These guys have to appreciate that people are working with them and are trying to accomodate them. We are here to do just that.''
