The farmer reported the carrots had been dug up from a small field and the cabbage was stolen from an adjacent garden some time on Thursday night.

The plot, on Watlington Road, borders Saltus Cavendish school and Police believe the intruders may have escaped through the grounds.

BIKE RIDER INJURED AC Bike rider injured Police are investigating a crash which left a 43-year-old bike rider with broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and internal bleeding.

The injured man, from Claytown, Baileys Bay, was overtaking a Mazda car on Wilkinson Avenue in Hamilton Parish when the vehicles crashed at the junction with Fractious Street at 1.30 p.m. on Thursday.

The bike rider is being treated in intensive care at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

BEER RIDER INJURED CRM Beer bandit sought Detectives are hunting a burglar with a taste for beer. A bottle of beer was stolen during a break-in at a house in Fork Lane, Southampton, overnight on Thursday.

Officers are probing another bizarre break-in at Cherry Hill, Pembroke, after a woman confronted the man in her bathroom.
