which "landed'' in the yard of a Paget residence was yesterday fined $800 and taken off the road for a year.

Michael George James, of South Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving while disqualified and driving in a dangerous manner.

Police saw James travelling from the near-side lane to the far-side lane near the Shell gas station on Crow Lane around 2.45 a.m. on April 27, Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said.

James increased his speed from about 60 to 70 kph after he looked back and saw Police.

Insp. Duffy, who described how James continued to weave and cut corners along the road to Trimingham Hill, said he drove through a private driveway and landed in a yard about 20 feet below.

James quickly got up and made his way to South Road, Insp. Duffy said. James was subsequently arrested.

James, who was originally banned from driving all motor vehicles until October 8 this year, was yesterday fined $350 for driving while disqualified and $450 for dangerous driving. He was taken off the road until October 8 next year for both offences.
