The 12 apartments, which are to be built in four two-storey units, are to be erected by Bermuda Housing Corporation in Tribe Road Number Two.

The Development Applications Board approved the application in principle and suggested that the agricultural land surrounding the site be rented out for farming.

As the development is only approved in principle, details relating to its site coverage, parking, design, external appearance and landscaping have not been properly drawn up.

They will be addressed before full approval is granted.

However, the density of the site, use and means of access are approved.

The board said: "The agricultural land surrounding the hereby approved development is of excellent quality and that every attempt should be made to rent the land out for farming purposes to a commercial farmer, and to establish kitchen gardens for the inhabitants of the approved development.''
