The bus was carrying 12 children aged between four and eight years old. It was travelling just east of Warwick Academy at about 8.30 a.m. when it got sandwiched between two cars in a rear end shunt, a Police spokesman said.

Six of the children were taken to hospital with bumps and bruises. All of the children were left shaken by the ordeal, the spokesman added.

Later in the day staff at the Ambassador's Club donated six teddy bears to "help the children feel better''.
