including threatening behaviour and causing grievous bodily harm.

But Abdul Ebbin will have to wait until the end of next month before being sentenced after Senior Magistrate Will Francis ordered a social inquiry report.

Ebbin, 30, wearing a tattered T-shirt and jeans, was remanded in custody until October 28 for sentencing.

He pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm, threatening behaviour, possessing an offensive weapon, and resisting arrest on April 6.

He also pleaded guilty to making threatening gestures to a witness on April 8 on Mullet Bay Road.

Ebbin, of Slippery Hill, admitted he was in breach of a bail condition -- he had been ordered to have no contact with the witness before his trial which was scheduled for August.

He also pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour and assault on March 30 and damaging a phone and other property belonging to a neighbour on April 30.

And he pleaded guilty to three charges which stemmed from his arrest, during which he escaped from custody, violently resisted arrest, and was in possession of an offensive weapon.

Crown counsel Larry Mussenden told Mr. Francis that just after 11 p.m. on March 30, Mark Trott complained to Police that he had been kicked in the rear by Ebbin as he left a bar.

He said Ebbin also threatened him with a knife after he refused to give him a piece of chicken.

Ebbin was later arrested by Police but said the attack was warranted because Mr. Trott had been abusive to him.

In a separate incident on April 6 Ebbin attacked the manager of Freddie's Pub on the Square after he had been asked to leave around 11 p.m., said Mr.

Mussenden.

Ebbin produced a kitchen knife with an eight inch blade but the manager quickly convinced him to give it up.

But after the manager eventually returned the knife to Ebbin, he became involved in a second altercation, stabbing Mr. Michael Paynter who later needed 18 stitches to close the wound.

Mr. Paynter made it to the safety of St. George's Police station and when Police went outside Ebbin was shouting and threatening him.

The next day, after appearing in court and pleading not guilty to the charge, Ebbin made threatening gestures toward Mr. Paynter on Mullet Bay Road, defying an order by Mr. Francis to have no contact.

Mr. Mussenden said Ebbin rode up next to the man and made his hand into the shape of a pistol and made trigger pulling gestures.

And in a third incident Ebbin pleaded guilty to slashing a telephone cord in the home of Zina Butterfield as she tried to call Police after returning home to find Ebbin -- whom she did not know -- making a sandwich.

Ebbin grabbed a knife after Ms Butterfield hit him with a child's plastic lunch pail but a male companion of the woman convinced him to leave.

Police found him outside the property and as they were putting him in a car, Ebbin pointed at the male companion of Ms Butterfield and said: "See that guy there? I'm going to kill him.'' Mr. Mussenden said that Ebbin ran away from Police in Sandys Parish near Caesar's Pharmacy on Middle Road.

He was caught near Dean's Bakery and put in a car but not before flashing a knife and wrestling with Police.

After reading Ebbin's record, Mr. Francis said: "It seems something has happened to him recently. He has been of good character up to now.'' Duty counsel Richard Horseman promised Mr. Francis he would return to court on October 28 to assist during Ebbin's sentencing.
