Businessman and former United Bermuda Party candidate Ramadhin Smith had intended to lead an all-volunteer crew into Middletown on Saturday with the purpose of picking up trash and clearing properties which have become junkyards.

But a friend of Mr. Smith -- who could not be reached for comment last night -- told The Royal Gazette that on Saturday no-one turned out to join Mr.Smith.
