The auction comes after a proposed deal with the Camberley Hotel Company fell through.

It is understood the company were interested in taking the leftover goods, but the failed negotiations have made a sale necessary.

On Saturday, Leonard O. Gibbons will put under the hammer tables, chairs, bedroom furniture, glassware and china.

The sale follows a previous auction last February which raised thousands of dollars. Then, several hundred buyers bought furniture and other interior equipment from the St. George's property.

A deal with Camberley looks finished. But Tourism Minister David Allen hinted that a new proposal was on the cards for the hotel, which closed 11 years ago.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
