Community service extended
Devonshire man, who admitted having drug equipment, to serve 40 hours of community service.
Mr. Francis heard Police found a cutter with cocaine residue on it when they searched Brian Flemming, of North Shore Road, on October 28.
Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said officers were responding to a complaint that men were using drugs at the Government Pulverisation Plant on Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke.
He said both Flemming and another man appeared nervous when Police arrived.
The cutter was found in Flemming's jacket pocket. The search of the other man proved negative.
Mr. Peter Farge, for Flemming, told Mr. Francis his client has already completed 56 hours of a 100-hour community service sentence imposed on him for other offences.
"He is not employed so he does not have the means to pay a fine,'' Mr. Farge said. "I ask you to take into account that he has already done one night in jail and he is currently doing community service about eight hours a day.'' Mr. Francis allowed the 40 hours of community service he imposed to run concurrently with the 100 hours Flemming is serving.
