busts yesterday pleaded not guilty in Supreme Court to one count of possession and one count of handling a controlled drug, namely cocaine.

The Crown, represented by Senior Counsel Brian Calhoun, charged that on September 11 last year, 59-year-old Barbara Roberts and her 71-year-old husband, William Roberts, were found in possession of, and with intent to supply, approximately $1.5 million worth of cocaine.

The Sandys Parish couple are further alleged to have knowingly handled cocaine intended for supply, and of possessing 36 plastic bags, a kitchen scale, and a knife in connection with the drugs.

Chief Justice Austin Ward ordered the couple -- currently out on bail -- to return for mention on July 1. The couple were yesterday represented by Counsel Mark Pettingill, holding for Richard Hector.
