Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis on Friday ordered a social inquiry report for 48-year-old Frederick J. Douglas who admitted stabbing the other man with a dirty fishing knife.

Frederick J. Daniels of Union Street, Hamilton pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding.

Prosecuting, Insp. Peter Duffy said that on May 14 at the Ducking Stool Park in Pembroke, Daniels was socialising with a few men.

"Daniels got into an argument with one of the men and bystander Richard Dickinson told them to stop arguing and be friends.

"Daniels then turned around and told Dickinson that he had had enough of him.

With that Daniels reached for his fishing knife and stabbed him in the chest,'' said Insp. Duffy.

Insp. Duffy added that after the removal of the knife, Dickenson lost a lot of blood.

"Dickenson tried to get on his bike to get to the hospital but was too weak.

"His friends took him to the hospital, and after recieving medical attention, Dickenson was told that he had lost two litres of blood. His lungs had to be drained.'' Insp. Duffy also told the Court that because the fishing knife was dirty, an infection set in which kept Dickenson in hospital.

"Daniels fully admitted to stabbing the man,'' Insp. Duffy said.

Asked by the Police what happened, he said Dickenson had been riding his bike around the men causing dirt to fly in the air.

After many times of telling him to stop, Daniels took out his knife and stabbed him once in the chest.
