Since Dr. Jack Arnell graduated in 1939, around 170 Bermudians have studied at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

And this week alumni from Dalhousie met at the house of another former student, former Senate Leader the Hon. Charles Collis.

The University's Chancellor Dr. Rueben Cohen and Vice Chancellor Dr. Howard Clark were at the party.

So was Dr. Arnell and the latest addition to the alumni Miss Heather Moorhead, who qualified this year.

President of the Bermuda chapter of the Alumni Association, Mr. Bill Jack said: "We have approximately 170 alumni on the Island, and the university used the trip as an opportunity to visit schools to talk about entrance requirements.

"Dalhousie has a strong law school and medical school and is one of the top universities in Canada.'' Officials stressed that the university has just introduced a new chair for Black Canadian Studies.
