over pay and gratuities.

The Bermuda Industrial Union was called in and after discussions with management, the staff returned to their duties.

Both sides are to meet again on Monday.

Reefs general manager Neal Stephens said there were two issues that were being addressed.

Problems over gratuity payments to staff were to be sorted out between the union and workers, he said.

And difficulties over payment for one member of staff who cleans a cottage were being looked into.

Mr. Stephens said they were investigating the situation with regard to other hotels on the Island.

BIU vice-president Chris Furbert said he was hopeful that the situation would be resolved.

He said staff felt the person who cleans the cottage should be paid a higher rate, since there was more work than in a single room.

The gratuity issue surrounded some people who had been put on the tip structure, but had not been approved.

All the issues would be addressed on Monday, he said.

Meanwhile the dispute involving cleaning staff at the Stonington Hotel has been resolved.
