Southampton man was taken off the road for a year and fined $450 this week.

Ryan Foggo, of Lighthouse Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving on South Road in Paget on September 29 while impaired.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said Police were on patrol around 1.40 a.m. when they saw Foggo's motorcycle swerving.

Sgt. Grant said Police stopped Foggo and asked him if he had been drinking.

He replied: "I had been on the boat and had a few beers''.

Foggo had 165 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Foggo, a computer technician, told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis he recently returned to the Island an had "gotten lucky working with Bermuda Computer Services''.

"My job requires me to go to different companies and fix computers,'' Foggo explained and he produced a letter from the company.

But Mr. Francis told Foggo impaired driving was "one of the greatest causes of injury and death''.

"You were more than twice the legal limit,'' he added.
