Drink-driver is fined and banned

fined $350 in Magistrates' Court yesterday. Joseph A. DaCosta, 39, of White Sands pleaded guilty to the charge.
Prosecuting, Insp. Peter Duffy, told the court that on June 21 at 4.45 p.m.
DaCosta failed to stop for a red light at the junction of King and Church Streets.
"Police officers spotted him, and signalled for him to stop. Upon approaching DaCosta officers found that his eyes were red and glazed and his breath smelled heavily of alcohol.'' A breathalyser test showed that DaCosta had 133 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined DaCosta $350 and disqualified him from all vehicles for 12 months.
