driving all vehicles for one year after she pleaded guilty last week to three traffic offences.

Nakita Fubler, of Scott's Hill Road, was fined a total of $850 by Senior Magistrate Will Francis.

Crown counsel Larry Mussenden said Fubler, 25, was stopped at 1.40 a.m. on November 15 last year in St. George's after Police saw an unhelmeted pillion passenger on her cycle.

The passenger ran off when Fubler stopped.

As Fubler told Police her name was Nakita Burrows they noted she was unsteady on her feet and her breath smelled of alcohol.

A breathalyser test revealed she had 117 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Later that night Fubler admitted giving a false name.

Mr. Francis fined her $150 for giving the false name and $300 for not having a valid driver's license.

In other impaired driving cases last week, a St. George's man was banned from driving for a year after he admitted being more than three times over the limit.

Osdale Rochester, 43, of Hidden Valley, was stopped by Police in King's Square, St. George's.

A breath test later showed 277 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Mr. Francis fined Rochester, a self-employed painter, $450.

Meanwhile, construction worker Alan Cann was fined $500 and taken off the road for a year after pleading guilty to drunk driving.

Cann, 52, of West Avenue, Southampton was stopped by Police on Middle Road early on August 22 after his car was seen swerving across the carriageway.

An alcoanalyser test showed he was more than two times over the legal drink drive limit.

And Matthew Clarke, 21, was fined $400 and lost his licence for a year.

Police saw Clarke jump a red light and narrowly miss another parked vehicle in Hamilton in the early hours of September 5.

Clarke, from North Shore Road, Pembroke, was stopped after parking his vehicle in the Corporation of Hamilton car park. A breath test showed that he was one-and-a-half times over the legal limit.
