Driver had too many tequilas
after drinking three tequilas at a club.
He was fined $350 in Magistrates' Court for impaired driving, and ordered off the road for 12 months.
Sgt. Wilbert McLean, prosecuting, said the 26-year-old was stopped by Police on South Road, Warwick, on April 28.
Police had followed him because he was riding his bike erratically, added Sgt.
McLean.
Tests showed Gibson had 157 milligrams of alcohol -- the legal limit is 100 -- in 100 millilitres of blood.
Gibson, an employee at the Hamilton Princess, who admitted the charge, told the court: "It was a one-off incident.'' He said he had felt fine after downing three "shots of Tequila'' -- but became queasy half-way back to his home on South Road, Warwick.

Thieves also netted $350 in cash during a daytime break-in at a house on the Railway Trail in Pembroke on Sunday afternoon. And a woman living on Bulkhead Drive in Warwick reported someone had entered her home and stolen items of jewellery, including a gold chain, a set of gold coloured earrings, a smoked topaz ring and a diamond engagement ring.
SPEED BOAT FLIPS OVER AC Speed boat flips over Two people escaped serious injury when their 21-foot speed boat flipped near the entrance to Castle Harbour on Saturday afternoon. Both were thrown into the water but clear of the boat.
A nearby charter boat with a party of snorklers alerted Harbour Radio at 4 p.m., reporting that they had seen the incident but were unable to respond because snorklers were still in the water.
No other craft were in the area but a boat from Grotto Bay Beach Hotel answered the call, rescuing the two occupants and towing the capsized boat, Red Hot , back to the dock at Marriott's Castle Harbour.
MOTORCYCLIST HURT AC Motorcyclist hurt A 29-year-old employee of the Elbow Beach Hotel is in hospital with serious injuries after losing control of his motor cycle and colliding with a parked taxi early yesterday morning.
The accident occurred while the man was travelling along Morgan's Road in Warwick at about 6 a.m.
He sustained head injuries and was yesterday listed in serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
