Drugs seized
Police Commissioner Jean-Jacques Lemay said officers had worked with HM Customs and Crime Stoppers in the fight against drug abuse on the Island.
He also praised members of the community who had played a vital role in providing officers with information, either directly to the Police or Customs officers, or anonymously via the Crime Stoppers hotline.
Last year 68.31 kilos of cannabis were recovered, with a street value of $3,415,500.
Cocaine, weighing 2.37 kilos and with a value of $694,337, was seized.
About 12.49 kilos of crack cocaine was found, worth $2,927,345.
Diamorphine, valued at $168,160 was seized, weighing 63.06 grammes, and about 607.93 grammes of cannabis resin was recovered, with a value of $30,397.
Mr. Lemay said: "We would not be able to do the kind of work we are doing without the help of the community.'' Most of the seizures were made either at the airport or on cruise ships.
