John W. Spencer, 33, of Flat Rock Close, Pembroke, was fined $800 and banned from driving intermediate-class vehicles for two years. The incident occurred on August 12 on Spanish Point Road, Pembroke.

In court, Spencer asked Senior Magistrate Will Francis not to take his truck licence away which he depended on for his job.

Spencer told Mr. Francis that if he was allowed to keep his licence for a private car, he could use that to perform his duties at work. Mr. Francis agreed, but said he would increase the fine and the driving ban.
