Ambrose Hill, of Alexandria Lane, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving with 170 millilitres of alcohol in 100 litres of blood.

Prosecutor Sgt. John Dale said Police were called to a road traffic accident on North Shore Road outside the Bermuda Aquarium at 11.30 p.m. on June 21.

When they arrived they found Hill's red car lying in the waters of Flatts Inlet.

"During the course of conversation, the officers became aware of the smell of intoxicating liquor on Hill's breath, and he seemed unsteady on his feet,'' Sgt. Dale said.

Magistrate the Wor. Charles-Etta Simmons disqualified Hill from driving for a year.

YOUNG BOY STOLE COMPUTER GAME CRM Young boy stole computer game Police yesterday urged parents to ensure that their children were "properly supervised'' after a 11-year-old boy was caught shoplifting.

Staff at a store on Queen Street saw the boy leave the premises on Thursday afternoon without paying for a computer game.

Police responded to the report and took the boy into custody. He was later handed over to his parents.

"Once again we would encourage parents to discuss with their children the seriousness of stealing from shops and ensure that young children are properly supervised while out shopping,'' Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said.

The incident was alleged to have taken place during the early hours of Thursday morning at a private residence. Police said the victim knew the suspect.

RIDER CAUGHT, BANNED AGAIN CTS Rider caught, banned again An 18-year-old, who was taken off the road for six months two weeks ago, yesterday pleaded guilty again to driving while disqualified.

Keith Jennings, of Ord Road in Warwick, admitted in Magistrates' Court that he rode his bike on Court Street in Hamilton on July 11.

Police spotted Jennings who they knew to be off the road and stopped him, prosecutor Sgt. John Dale said.

The Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp told Jennings: "If you cannot exercise self control you are not responsible enough to retain a licence.'' Mrs. Mapp ordered Jennings off the road for an additional 18 months which were to begin when he finished his original six months.

She also ordered him to pay a $350 fine.

Gunther Fishbacher, of Places Point Road, Spanish Point, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court on Thursday to the offence.

Prosecutor Sgt. John Dale said Police on patrol on Victoria Street on June 18 saw Fiscbacher fall off his auxiliary cycle.

The officers went to assist Fishbacher and noticed that he appeared drunk, Sgt. Dale said.

When Police asked Fishbacher if he had been drinking, he replied: "I work hard and yes I had a few beers after work.'' Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp told Fisbacher that she did not look kindly on drunk drivers.

"It is a good thing you did not kill either yourself or someone else.'' she said.
