E-commerce to get cash boost
yesterday's Budget taking themoney allocated to the department to $4,872,000.
Of that figure, $3,562,000 will go to fund the Department of Computer Systems and Services which was transferred to the Ministry from the Ministry of Finance last year in a bid to strengthen its technical side; $970,000 will fund the Department of Telecommunications; and $340,000 will fund the fledgling Department of E-Commerce. Revenue expected to be earned within the Ministry will total $6,500,000 which will come from the Department of Telecommunications.
The figure for capital expenditure, in the form of acquisitions, is set at $5,541,000.
And staffing levels are set at 45.
Two of these posts will be the newly funded positions of Directors of Telecommunications and E-Commerce who will assist with the development and marketing functions of this Ministry.
