So angry are east enders about the behaviour of some cyclists that they have suggested that security cameras should be considered. These ideas were part of the first meeting of the newly-formed Police Eastern Consultative Committee and more meetings are planned.

W.A. (Toppy) Cowen, who was chairman of the group, said that the behaviour of a few cyclists in the region of the old town of St. George's is the main concern.

Mr. Cowen said that the committee, composed of Calvin White, Eddie Lamb, Wendell Smith, Larry Jacobs, Pastor Llewellyn Williams, Gary Lamb and Ross Smith, met with Police Commissioner Colin Coxall and Chief Inspector Vendell Bridgeman. And he said the aim of the organisation is to improve the relationship between the community and the Police. Mr. Cowen said the committee will meet every two weeks in both private and public sessions.
