home by a man with a knife late on Tuesday night.

Police reported yesterday that officers went to a private residence on North Shore Road at 11 p.m. after receiving a report of a robbery.

There the elderly female occupant told them that she was upstairs when she heard her downstairs door being opened.

She went downstairs and was confronted by a man with a knife who demanded money from her. She handed over her purse and the man made off with about $60 in cash.

The woman was not injured during the ordeal but was visibly upset and traumatised, Police said.

The culprit, who remained on the loose yesterday, is described as being a brown-skinned male, five-feet eight-inches tall and was wearing dark clothing.

The incident is under investigation by Central CID.
