natural hazards is to be probed.
The examination should lay the basis for a "disaster preparedness plan'' by the year 2000.
It will be carried out by a new Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO) committee.
The committee will produce an in-depth report, containing plans to limit damage from natural disasters and prepare the community.
EMO chairman and Deputy Governor Mr. John Kelly said the committee was being set up to comply with a United Nations request that all countries form an effective disaster reduction, preparedness and prevention project for the 1990s.
Chairing the new committee is Director of Community and Cultural affairs, Mr.
Lowdru Robinson.
