stealing and defrauding tens of thousands of dollars from her employer.

Lucinda Colleen Bean, 29, of Warwick, admitted to 26 related counts when she appeared before Puisne Judge the Hon. Mr. Justice Austin Ward at the monthly Supreme Court arraignment.

Between October 10, 1990 and February 22, 1992, Bean stole $29,618.90 in Bermudian currency and $672.54 in US currency and committed various fraud-related offences to cover up the thefts.

Mr. Justice Ward granted Bean bail of $2,500, ordered a social inquiry report, and remanded her to January 5.

Among the charges Bean admitted were: Theft of $12,000 from the Bermuda Commercial Bank on October 1, 1990; Forgery of a Bermuda Commercial Bank debit form for $13,350 on April 16, 1991; Theft of $2,804.54 from the Bermuda Commercial Bank between January 13 and February 7, 1991; Forgery of a bank credit form for $2,804.50 on February 27, 1991; and Theft of $2,030 from the bank between February 28 and March 5.

Mr. Perry Trott, acting for Mr. Delroy Duncan, appeared for Bean.

And Malcolm Leroy Eugene Simmons, 36, of Sandys, admitted he attempted to set fire to a building while someone was inside it on March 31. He also admitted he threw an article containing flammable liquid, with intent to damage property, on the same date.

But he denied he threw a petrol bomb at Henry James with the intent to burn him on March 31.

Simmons was remanded in custody until January 4. He is represented by Mr.

Philip Perinchief.

Also in arraignments, Charles Gladwin Williams, 37, of Pembroke, was remanded to February 2 on charges of attempting to murder Carla Simon and wounding Carla Simon with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm.

Williams, represented by Miss Keren Lomas, was bailed.

A 59-year-old Pembroke man denied assaulting a woman with intent to commit rape on December 23 and was remanded on bail to February 15 for trial.
