Tuesday after admitting stealing $358 from their employer Mr. Raymond Madeiros.

Laquita A. Philpott, 20, of Fairvale Lane, Warwick, and Richard McCashie, 28, of George's Bay Road, Sandys, were not represented.

Prosecuting Insp. Peter Duffy told the Court that on July 3 Philpott, a cashier/receptionist, and McCashie, a mechanic, stole the money from the cycle rental store in Southampton.

"A customer who said that he would pay by credit card returned his rented bike and paid $358 in cash,'' said Insp. Peter Duffy. "Philpott took the cash and gave the man his receipt.

"Later the man contacted owner Mr. Madeiros about renting the same cycle.

When Madeiros went to look for the man's rental contract it could not be found. He contacted the Police and they began an investigation.

"When being questioned by Police, Philpott admitted to stealing the cash, keeping $200 while McCashie kept $158. Both amounts were recovered.'' Asked by Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis if they had anything to say Philpott replied: "I've learned a valuable lesson from this and I do not intend on doing it again.'' McCashie said: "It was a stupid decision on my behalf.''
