Police officer accused of the alleged manslaughter of his girlfriend.

Lawyers in the case of Tony Bukhari are scheduled to appear again on February 26 after a short hearing before Puisne Judge Norma Wade-Miller yesterday.

Delroy Duncan, acting for Bukhari, is expected to make an application to have the manslaughter indictment against his client quashed after the next hearing.

He appeared with his client yesterday for a brief session, before the adjournment was made.

Bukhari, from the United Kingdom, is charged in connection with the death of Royal Gazette sub-editor Elizabeth Cadell, who died from an overdose in May 1997 at the home the couple shared.

Yesterday, Patrick Doherty appeared for the Crown.

Bukhari was granted an extension to his bail.
