Gregory Charles Talbot entered his pleas before Puisne Judge the Hon. Mr.

Justice Ward at the monthly arraignments in Supreme Court.

The secondary school student, charged in connection with a boat crash on the Great Sound last September 1, will stand trial on September 8.

Talbot is charged with causing the death of Wayne Conroy Swan and causing injury to Anthony Terrence Johnson through reckless boating.

He is further charged with operating a boat in a dangerous manner and without due care and attention.

Talbot is represented by Mr. Archibald Warner. His bail was extended.

In other news from the arraignments: Antoine Michael Brangman, 24, of Laurel Lane in Sandys, pleaded guilty to 24 currency offences.

He admitted that on 12 different occasions when he purchased US currency, he received exemptions under the Foreign Currency Purchase Tax Act 1975 by falsely stating he needed the money for trips to America.

On 12 corresponding occasions, he failed to surrender the funds to an authorised dealer when they were no longer needed for the stated purpose.

The offences occurred between September of 1991 and October of 1992.

Brangman, who was unrepresented, is to be sentenced on May 7. His bail was extended.

A trial date the week of July 6 was set for a 39-year-old Pembroke man charged with currency offences involving about $36,000.

Steven Wilfred Pitt is unrepresented. His bail was extended.

A 36-year-old Pembroke man was remanded until June 7 for mention after he pleaded not guilty to indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14.

The offence is alleged to have occurred between August 1 and August 31, 1991.

The man is represented by Mr. Warner. His bail was extended.

An arrest warrant was issued for a 27-year-old Pembroke man charged with having unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 14.

The man, who was free on $1,000 bail, did not show up for court.

The offence is alleged to have occurred between August 1 and October 1, 1992.

Michael Martino Richardson, 32, of Northlands Lane, Pembroke, was remanded until June 7 for mention after he pleaded not guilty to drug charges.

Richardson, who is represented by Mr. Warner, is charged with possession of cannabis intended for supply and knowingly handling cannabis intended for supply.

The offences are alleged to have occurred last July 7.

Oliver Simmons, 42, of Smith's, was remanded until June 7 for mention on charges of making false statements to the Bermuda Monetary Authority and failing to surrender foreign currency.
