Tony John Richards, of Kent, England, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to using offensive words, violently resisting arrest and assaulting a Police officer, causing him bodily harm.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James said the Police officer was on patrol on around 10 p.m. on September 29 when he saw a couple in an altercation at Mangrove Bay in Sandys Parish.

When the officer inquired whether everything was all right Richards swore at him and added: "We don't need you black bastards here''.

Sgt. James said when the officer attempted to arrest Richards, the defendant punched him in the mouth.

Lawyer Ms Kim Wilson explained that Richards was drunk at the time of the heated discussion and his actions were "totally out of character''.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Edward King told Richards: "Those words are inflammatory''.

He fined him $250 for using the offensive words, $350 for resisting arrest, and $500 for assaulting the Police officer.
