Fire Service spokesman Lt. Jon Thompson reported that one appliance with six personnel went to the scene at 3.30 a.m..

The Pembroke woman driving the Mazda car was unhurt in the accident.

The fire crew swept up the broken glass and spread absorbent over the spilled oil.

Lt. Thompson added that the crew disconnected the battery to eliminate any possible ignition source for the spilled fuel.

A Police spokesman said a Police tow-truck was also sent to the scene and added that details on the accident were sketchy.

A 37-year old man reported that his Seawall Drive home had been entered and several Sony play station cartridges and accessories plus some cash had been stolen.

Meanwhile, an honest taxi driver returned a black camera that was left in his cab to the Hamilton Police Station.

He discovered it in his cab at around 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Police said the owner can contact P.c. David Ward at 295-0011 to arrange to identify and collect the camera.

POLICE APPEAL FOR ACCIDENT WITNESSES POL AC Police appeal for accident witnesses The Police are looking for witnesses to a road traffic accident that happened on South Sea Avenue, Paget on Wednesday.

A 26-year-old woman on a motorcycle tried to overtake a 38-year-old man who was about to turn his truck on to South Sea Avenue.

The accident happened just after 1.15 p.m. and landed both the cyclist and her passenger in the hospital.

The driver suffered a broken leg while the passenger was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with a serious neck injury while the truck driver was unharmed.

Police are requesting witnesses to contact P.c. David Ward at 295-0011.

VISIT HITS GAS BY MISTAKE, FALLS OFF AC Visitor hits gas by mistake, falls off Police were called to assist a 49-year-old Canadian visitor who fell off his scooter Thursday evening.

The man was travelling east on Middle Road just before 10.30 p.m. when he attempted to apply the brakes.

However he accelerated instead and fell off. He suffered a fractured collar bone.

MAN RIDES PAST, STEAL WOMAN'S BAG CRM Man rides past, steals woman's bag A 40-year-old Pembroke woman reported to Police that her handbag was snatched on Wednesday.

Police said that the woman was riding her cycle east on Middle Road, Devonshire around 5 p.m. when she was approached at the junction near Orange Valley by a man.

The man rode past the woman, waving the handbag at her.

The thief turned into Orange Valley with the victim giving chase.

Upon realising that he was being pursued, the man sped up and was able to lose his victim.

Taken from the woman's basket was a red and green handbag containing a purse, an undisclosed quantity of cash, credit cards, a driver's licence and a chequebook.

Police are investigating the incident.

MAN TAKEN OFF ROAD FOR DRINK-DRIVING CTS Man taken off road for drink-driving A 21-year-old St. George's man yesterday pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving while impaired.

The Court heard that Police on foot patrol saw a livery cycle ridden by Joell Cheeseman, of Wellington Back Road, St. George's, swerving from one side of the road to the other on York Road in St. George's.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette told the court that when the officer stopped Cheeseman to question him, he could not remember his correct date of birth and his breath smelled of alcohol.

Cheeseman was arrested and taken to St. George's Police Station where he failed a breathalyser test.

Acting Senior Magistrate Cherly-Ann Mapp ordered Cheeseman to pay a $500 fine and banned him from driving all motor vehicles for 12 months.

Steven Terico, 35, of West Babylon, New York, Thursday pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving while impaired on the morning of May 24.

Acting Senior Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Mapp reminded Terico that drunk driving was also illegal in his own country.

She told Terico that he was lucky that he had not returned to the US "in a bodybag''. And she ordered him to pay a $600 fine.
