Police yesterday reported the crash which occurred about 9 p.m. between the Paget traffic lights and the Ice Queen.

The man subsequently arrested was driving a car when he collided with three vehicles driving in the opposite direction. Minor damage was sustained by the three cars, while the driver and pillion passenger of a Yamaha motorcycle were injured.

The rider, a 25-year-old Pembroke man, broke his wrist and the passenger, a 20-year-old Warwick woman, sustained a leg injury and road rash. Both received hospital treatment.

Police said the man arrested failed his alco-analyser test.

MARATHON RUN RAISES $41,000 FNR Marathon run raises $41,000 Masterworks Foundation trustee Mr. Tom Butterfield managed to raise $41,000 for the art gallery while racing in the London Marathon on Sunday.

The funds will be used to purchase Georgia O'Keeffe's Banyon Tree, now on display at the National Gallery.

The pledges, ranging from corporate donations of $200 to individual gifts of 50 cents, were raised in three weeks.

In the past four years, $90,000 has been raised by the foundation through marathon pledges.

BURGLAR DISTURBED IN BEDROOM CRM Burglar disturbed in bedroom A burglar was disturbed around 2 a.m. yesterday while rummaging through an apartment on Spice Hill Road in Warwick, Police report.

"The thief entered through a closed but unlocked door,'' a Police spokesman said yesterday. "The occupants, who were asleep in their bed, awoke to find the man at their dresser.

"The thief, not even appearing startled, calmly picked up his stolen items and ran out the same way he entered.'' The Police said the resident chased the thief across his garden, but the man was able to escape over a wall. Stolen goods included a gold chain and nugget, $33 from a wallet and a bag containing personal items.

DROVE OVER AN EMBANKMENT CTS Drove over an embankment A man who drove his car over an embankment while under the influence of alcohol was fined $650 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Allan Furbert, 36, of Hamilton Parish, admitted driving without insurance and while under the influence of alcohol on March 13.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said officers discovered Furbert's car over an embankment at the junction of Jenning's Road and North Shore in Smith's Parish at 2.40 a.m.

Furbert approached the officers and told them he was only moving his car from one point to another when the incident occurred.

He said he had stopped at the Anchorage Bar for "a few drinks.'' An alco-analyser test revealed there was 167 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood in Furbert's system.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined $300 for having no insurance and $350 for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also disqualified from all vehicles for 12 months.

VISITING STUDENT FINED $350 CTS Visiting student fined $350 A visiting college student was fined $350 in Magistrates' Court yesterday after Police caught him riding under the influence of alcohol.

Michael Buck, of Providence College, was stopped on Front Street after officers spotted him riding his auxiliary cycle without a helmet at 2.20 a.m.

on Sunday.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Buck's cycle was swerving from side to side and his feet were hanging close to the road.

When stopped, Buck's speech was slurred, his eyes were glazed and his breath smelled of alcohol, Insp. Duffy said.

Insp. Duffy said Buck refused to take the alco-analyser test.

Buck was also disqualified from all vehicles for 12 months.
