His family said they were hoping to hold the service and burial at St. James' Church in West Side Road, Somerset, but were waiting for the time to be confirmed.

Members of the tennis fraternity in Bermuda, who are currently overseas, are expected to return to the Island for the funeral.

Tributes have poured in following the death of Craig, who was ranked Bermuda's top junior tennis player and eighth among the male players.

He died of severe head injuries in the intensive care unit (ICU) at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Monday night after his family took the decision to withdraw some of his medication.

His family and close friends were beside him.

Craig was involved in a five-vehicle smash just east of Five Star Island on Middle Road, Southampton, just before 4 a.m. on Sunday.

He was travelling towards the west end with friends on four bikes when they collided head on with a car.

Three other young men who were riding on the bikes were injured in the smash, one seriously, who was listed as stable in ICU last night having made some improvement from his critical condition.

The other two suffered broken bones, while the 38-year-old car driver and two other riders escaped unhurt.

Craig, of Tribe Road No. 5, Southampton, was at Bermuda College studying carpentry, where he finished his first year at the end of last semester with honours.

His fellow students at the college are believed to holding a tribute in his memory today.

Craig's father, Richard, said his 18-year-old son was thinking about joining a school specialising in wood design, but had also not ruled out the possibility of applying for a tennis scholarship.

He had played from the age of three, and had represented Bermuda overseas, last year earning a place at a tennis summer camp in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He had won many junior matches and just three weeks ago reached his first senior final on the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association Grand Prix at the Southampton Princess.

It was seized by Animal Protection Officer Yvonne Ricca at a house on the Railway Trail in Southampton on Friday.

It was suffering from swelling around its neck and head and needed treatment from a veterinary surgeon for its injuries, which were not life threatening.

TASI DRIVER ASSAULTED CRM TRA Taxi driver assaulted A 73 year-old taxi driver spent the night in hospital after an assault that took place on Mangrove Bay Road in Sandy's Parish.

Shortly before 10.30 p.m. Tuesday, Police responded to a call from a member of the public who reported they had seen the victim standing by the road near the Somerset Country Squire bleeding from the head.

When Police arrived, the Sandy's parish victim said he was sitting in his taxi when an unknown male entered the passenger side and began to beat him.

Nothing was stolen during the incident but the victim sustained a fractured arm and a laceration to his face as a result.

He was conveyed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance and detained overnight for observation.

A member of the public saw an unknown male of slim build leaving the area on foot and heading west around the time of the attack.
